My Donors

This year, I'm taking orders for my baking. While this is primarily for the folks I see every day at the office, I will take pre-orders for delivery at the April 28 event. I have several options for you.

  1. Pre-Passover Matzoh Crack. For a $10 donation, I will make you your own pan of Matzoh Crack. I'll even make it after Passover, if you want. Matzoh Crack is a delectible concoction of toffee and bittersweet chocolate on a substrate of matzoh.
  2. Grandma Dorfman's secret recipe rugelah. For a $25 donation, I will bake a batch of these tender, melting morsels just for you. Pecans, cinnamon sugar and a dollop of Freakin' Flamingo's micro-batch jam.
  3. Doggie biscuits! YESH!!! Home-made dog biscuits (made with chicken broth, peanut butter and cheese) $2 each large biscuit or 3 for $5.
  4. Mummy's famous chocolate mocha swirl cake more to your liking? I'm doing this two ways: $5 for a personal size bundt cake, or an impressive $50 donation for a full-size cake. Instant coffee, butter, eggs, and bittersweet chocolate for the win. No icing needed.

By participating in Share Our Strength's Great American Bake Sale, I am committed to raising awareness and funds to make sure no kid in America grows up hungry.

This year, nearly one in five kids in America will face hunger. That's more than 16 million. But, there is hope. Share our Strength is working to connect hungry kids with programs that can help them get the food they need to thrive.

I'm taking my love for baking and putting it to good use to help kids struggling with hunger, but I need your help! Stop by our bake sale on April 28 at the South Miami Farmer's Market to purchase some yummy treats or make an online donation to my bake sale. Every cookie sold and every dollar donated can make a huge impact. Here are some examples:*

$1 can help provide a hungry child with 10 healthy meals.
$4 can help provide a child facing hunger with a backpack full of healthy food over a weekend when school meals are not available.
$9 can help connect a child with healthy lunches during summer when school is out.
$35 can help a child care center provide free afterschool snacks and suppers to at-risk children all year long.
$65 can provide a grab-n-go breakfast cart to an elementary school so that every student starts every school day with a healthy meal.

* Gifts made to Share Our Strength represent a gift to our organizational mission and are used to reach the highest number of children facing hunger in America. Share Our Strength combines your gift with others to address child hunger community by community, state by state, all across America.

Thanks for helping!

Lynne

Let's Do This Thing
I'm trying a new system this year. Instead of randomly baking, I'm going to bake each $25 donor a batch of Grandma Dorfman's rugelech. That's at least a dozen delicious shortbread, pecan, cinnamon and jam delights, to share or hoard as you see fit.
For $50, I'll bake you my mother's Coffee Mocha Swirl cake.
You know you want it.
All other custom baking is open to negotiations. Just remember that I can make a pie crust that brings strong men to tears.
